"진실한[Genuine] 나의 모습을 찾는 것"

쉬운 일인 듯싶지만 참 어려운 일인 것 같습니다.

수많은 상황들 속에서 드러나는, 때론 나조차 몰랐던 나의 여러 가지 모습들 속에서

스스로에게 질문하고 또 방황하고 주저앉았던 시간들을 지나 배운 것이 있다면,

이런 나의 모습을 있는 그대로 먼저 인정하는 일이었던 것 같습니다.

기대하지 않던 시간들이 선물처럼 다가와

첫 솔로 앨범을 준비하면서

"나"라는 존재는 완벽하지 않고, 또 절대로 완벽해질 수는 없는 존재이지만

지금의 나의 모습 속에서 할 수 있는 이야기들을 최대한 진실되게 꺼내어 보려 노력했습니다.

제가 어릴 적 누군가의 음악을 들으며 위로 받고 힘을 얻었던 것처럼

이 앨범을 들으시는 누군가에게 작은 힘이 될 수 있다면 정말 기쁠 것 같습니다.

“Finding a [Genuine] self” 

seems easy but it is not as it looks. 

One thing that I learned from different aspects of myself revealed in different situations, 

and from the time I questioned myself, wandered, and collapsed, 

is that I should first accept myself as who I am. 

The unexpected opportunity came like a gift.

While preparing for this album, 

Even though “I” is not perfect and never can be perfect,

I tried my best to tell genuine stories of myself now. 

As I was comforted and cheered by listening to someone’s music when I was young,

I’d be glad if I could be of some help to someone who’s listening to this album.
